A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"This spot is a gem! The coffee was rich and flavorful, and the toastie was just perfect. The ambiance is fantastic, and the staff’s friendliness adds to the experience. Service was quick, and the outdoor area is a great place to relax. Plus, parking is hassle-free!"
"This past weekend we hosted our son’s first birthday at the local shed. We couldn’t have found a better venue. The space, food, hospitality was unmatched. We enjoyed a beautiful brunch and can’t thank them enough. Special thank you to Heather who was our point of contact on the day. She made us feel so welcome and nothing we requested was too much. We apologise for the amount of apple juice the kids ordered. I think we went through the entire apple supply of the hills district."
"To be honest, I would have given 5 starts if we didn’t wait for over an hour for the food with 2 kids complaining in the background - admittedly it was the day before Mother’s Day’s day, so it was extra busy, and the owner did give us all a free drink. The food was beautiful, it was very well made. Flavourful and gorgeous looking. Calamari was soft, lamb curry was cooked to perfection, burgers felt gourmet, and definitely loved the melted cheeses. Drinks were great too. Atmosphere was great with some nice music, especially on a warmish winter day it’s practically perfect. Only problem, as I said, was the speed. We arrived at 11 and was given breakfast menu, ordered at 11:20 and the owner said they can’t take breakfast order anymore, gave us lunch menu at 11:30, we tried order straight away and was told we gotta wait a little bit, meanwhile we haven’t even got drinks down. Finally ordered lunch at 11:40, but food didn’t arrive till like 12:25pm. My kids have started going crazy at that point, and when I asked about food at 12:15 we were told the food hasn’t even started yet. By all measure, I felt very ready and justified to give a 1 star. But - the food was genuinely good. The owner did apologise. We did get a few complementary drinks. It was a busy day before Mother’s Day. So here we are, just 1 star short of a perfect score. Will come again. We enjoyed it. I look forward to the next visit and hopefully the food will come quickly so I can give that 1 extra star back!"
"Went to The Local Shed Café for brunch and it was a beautiful experience! I ordered coffee and corn fritters — both were delicious. The seating area is lovely and creates a warm, inviting vibe. The owner is so humble and welcomed us with a big smile, which made the visit even more special. It’s also a great spot to host a birthday party or small gathering. Highly recommend this gem!"
"Beautiful Cafe in a gorgeous leafy green suburb edge. This historic building is such a relaxing spot for breakfast or lunch. Staff were really friendly and helpful (got us water for our fur friends). The while menu looks delicious so it was hard to chose but we could see other meals coming out that looked amazing too. We went for the falafel and the chicken skewers. Generous serve of food ensuring good value and plenty of parking nearby. Dog friendly too! Would definitely recommend. They also have a function room you can rent, would be great for a birthday."
"We came here with our Mother's Group, and they were so accommodating! We initially wanted to picnic on the lawn but due to the rain, had to be moved inside. The chef in particular was the one who came out and looked after us. He sat us in the boardroom so there would be plenty of space for our prams, we could breastfeed with a little privacy, and if our babies became unsettled, we wouldn't have to worry about guests in our immediate vicinity getting agitated. This chef told us about the baby change table in the disabled toilet, made sure the door to the boardroom was closed so we wouldn't get cold, and gave us our menus. Every time we walked past, he and his staff had such beautiful, welcoming smiles. He really went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. The food we ordered came out promptly, and was delicious. Even a few veggie and vegan looking options (though more on the lunch menu). My friend ordered the Canadian Breakfast which also looked divine. We will definitely be back, thanks again for such a wholesome experience!"
"Cafe with outdoor seating. Went for fathers day lunch. Special menu for the day with each dish @$50 was definitely expensive by any standards. Staff even forgot to serve for ask for water. Our table spent over $500. The food was yummy and service was prompt. Parking was easy."
"Nice menu, Good variety. Nicky was especially helpful quick fast service helping me find outdoor seating for my dog and myself during a busy time and immediately greeting me when I first walked in. Was able to take my order and give payment at the table extremely helpful if you have pets or kids. Coffee was nice however the regular cup doesn’t have a handle so this could be a problem for extra hot drinks. Food and coffee came at the same time super fast and zero wait time perfect for families and smaller groups. Great outdoor seating with umbrellas and tables that wrap around the whole cafe beautiful garden dining area."
